Remote Learning Contingency Plan

We always endeavour to keep the school open.  However, there are some occasions when it is difficult to guarantee the safety of all our students. In these types of situations, a contingency plan will be put into operation. Our main way of communicating with you will be via the school office. We will send a communication to those it affects to alert them of the need to put in place a contingency plan.

On some occasions, students may already be in school when the contingency plan needs to be put in place.  We will inform you of this via a school office communication.

In circumstances where school attendance is restricted or if the school is required to close, and a contingency plan is put into operation, we will continue to be committed to providing a high-quality education and continuity of learning for all our pupils. In line with the Department for Education (DfE) guidance, in the event of such restrictions, we will, where feasibly possible, provide learning opportunities via our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). Each pupil will have a personal, password-protected login to access the VLE and engage in learning activities. We aim to ensure that remote learning is accessible, engaging and appropriate for the age and development of each child.
