Sports Premium
The primary PE and sport premium was introduced in March 2013 to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England.
It is allocated to schools with primary aged pupils and is ring-fenced, meaning that it can only be spent on the provision of PE and sport in schools.
Sports Premium Summary 2024–2025
At St Mary’s C of E Infant School, we are committed to promoting healthy, active lifestyles and ensuring that all children have access to high-quality physical education, school sport and physical activity. During the academic year 2024–2025, we received £16,600 in Sports Premium funding.
This funding was used to support and enhance provision across the following key areas:
• Increasing physical activity engagement for all pupils, including through active playtimes, extra-curricular activities and targeted interventions.
• Upskilling staff to ensure high-quality PE teaching and learning.
• Broadening the range of sports and activities offered to pupils, ensuring inclusive access and promoting lifelong participation.
• Increasing participation in competitive sport.
The impact of this funding continues to be monitored carefully to ensure long-term benefits and sustainable improvements to our PE and sport provision.
